Healthy Valentine Treat

Valentine’s time again to enjoy a healthy nutritious treat!!

Here’s a recipe for a no-bake chocolate almond date treat for this Valentine’s Day. It’s eggless, requires minimal ingredients, and is both healthy and quick to make:

No-Bake Chocolate Almond Date Treat

Ingredients:
– 1 cup pitted dates
– 1 cup almonds
– 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1 tablespoon honey, molasses, or maple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
– Pinch of salt
– Shredded coconut, cocoa powder, chocolate slab, or crushed nuts for coating (optional)

Instructions:
1. In a food processor, combine the pitted dates, almonds, cocoa powder, honey, molasses or maple syrup (if using), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
2. Pulse the mixture until it forms a sticky dough-like consistency. If the mixture seems too dry, you can add a little bit of water, one teaspoon at a time, until it reaches the desired consistency.
3. Once the mixture is well combined, roll or press it into half an inch slab. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter and cut out. Or you can use your hands to roll it into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
4. If desired, roll the cutouts or balls in shredded coconut, cocoa powder, or crushed nuts for extra flavor and decoration. You can dip in melted chocolate for an extra choco indulgence.
5. Place the date balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and refrigerate them for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
6. Once chilled, the chocolate almond date treats are ready to be enjoyed! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

These chocolate almond date treats are not only delicious but also packed with nutrients from the dates and almonds. They make a perfect sweet treat for Valentine’s Day or any occasion, and you can easily make a large batch to share with your loved ones. Enjoy!

Happy Valentine’s Day!!
